Nate King: Sandblasted Bent Dublin Sitter with Plateau and Vintage Bakelite (237)
Product Number: 002-579-0047
Compared to some of his other shapes, we haven't seen all that many Dublin forms from Nate King in the past — this makes the fifth design, to be exact. On top of that, no two shapes have been the same, some falling closer to the classic Scoop, others taking a more industrial design sort of style. This one is, perhaps, the most organic we've seen from the carver to date, featuring a deep, craggy plateau crown along the rim, paired with a strong taper and some overall stout and tree trunk-like proportions. It also happens to be executed in one of my favorite "Nate King" finishes: a tanblast with heaps of depth, accentuating the briar's natural undulating growth rings with aplomb, and complemented by a unique, vintage bakelite accent.
