Nate King: Sandblasted Tomato with Bamboo (422)
Product Number: 002-579-0095
Nate King is one of my favorite carvers. His creativity is off the charts and I admire that. A long, slender, three-knuckle length of bamboo separates the subdued vulcanite stem (I don't know the name of the color, but I like it) from the shapely bowl, which itself is grained for hours of mesmerizing inspection. Easy in the hand and light, willowy and with a natural character, as though recently picked from a tree, this piece is individualistic, beautiful and promises to provide years of smoking pleasure.- Chuck Stanion
