Nording's Compass series presents an array of Poker designs fitted to sturdy metal shanks and vulcanite mouthpieces. The metal shanks provide increased durability and a lightweight posture, perfect for a workhorse smoker. This particular MacArthur piece celebrates the style of corncob pipe enjoyed most famously by General Douglas MacArthur — marked by a considerably raised transition. This one's presented in a traditionally smooth, walnut stain, highlighting the briar's natural grain, and comes complete with a shank-and-stem arrangement of both standard and Churchwarden length, allowing it to be enjoyed on-the-go as well as in a comfortable armchair.
