Nording: Compass Metal Matte Silver Tobacco Pipe

When one looks at this and then looks at Erik Nording's other work, it's almost astonishing to see the difference. Far from the fluted fancy Freehands that so often appear in his portfolio, the Compass series comprises a single shape: a riff on Dunhill's "44" Duke shape, a Poker with no shank. The cylindrical bowl is wrapped with metal in a matte chrome color, and the stem is affixed to it near the flat bottom with a push-mount for added practicality. If you're looking for a no-nonsense, no frills smoker that will sit strong and smoke well, this is the pipe for you.
