Comprising a single, "44" Duke style shape and a myriad of finishes, Erik Nording's Compass line is unique amongst his portfolio, as it eschews his usual fancy Freehand aesthetic in favor of a more practical, straightforward style. This example is part of the Metal line, featuring a deep, army green aluminum ring around the briar chamber, protecting the hand from heat and giving the stummel a distinct, modern appeal. The aluminum stem is attached near the bottom of the bowl and is push mounted for ease of disassembly, even when hot, the metal paired to a trim, tapered mouthpiece.
