Nording: Handmade Smooth Bent Dublin (14) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-508-14227

Certainly more reserved than many of Erik Nording's more Fancy Freehand inspired pieces which comprise much of his regular production, this bent Dublin is still well within his stout, muscular shaping style. This muscularity is exemplified here via the tall, hearty bowl, one that features an ovoid shape and deep chamber within some thick insulating walls. The transition is cheeked and lies quite low, giving way to a flattened, similarly ovoid, shank angled slightly upward, its subtle presence, as well as the lithe stretch of tapered stem to which it is married, provides some levity and a touch of elegant flow to the composition. Dressed in a deep chestnut stain, this pipe showcases some striking flame grain across its surface, rising from the heel to the plateau-crowned rim in dense striations, making for a pipe that is subdued, elegant, though still all Nording.
