The Fantasy series from Erik Nording is marked by its distinctive partial rustication that's unique on each individual piece and is among the most rugged of the Danish carver's rustications. On this particular piece the dark rustication meanders across the bowl's surface and offers some brilliant contrast against the rest of the bowl's smooth finish and warm, reddish-tinged stain. The firm, undulating ridgelines along the rim provide additional visual interest for this distinctive Freehand.
