Though this bent Apple is relatively conservative compared to Nording's Fancy style Freehands, it continues the Danish carver's penchant for robust proportions. The bowl is pleasantly plump, displaying prominent cheeking around the transition with some additional mass lent to its low-set waistline. While the bowl fills the hand with its substantial size, the downturned stem allows this piece to be clenched with ease. It's been finished in a rich, glossy auburn contrast stain that beautifully highlights the briar's natural grain patterns.
