Serving as proof that Erik Nording can fashion classics with as deft a hand as his more unique Freehand shapes, this "501" straight Bulldog is as traditional a presentation as the Danish carver gets. It's certainly a fitting piece to be included as part of his Valhalla series, a line comprised of classic shapes with tastefully reserved finishes. This Bulldog adheres closely to the archetypal form with its diamond shank but trades the characteristic beadlines for a subtle ridgeline that wraps around the bowl's equator. The compact proportions and easy portability only add to its attractiveness.
