Nording's Virgin Grain series makes use of a light, natural stain to showcase the beautiful grain of the briar, and this floral-esque Freehand example has plenty of it on display. Patches of plateau along the rim adds some organicism to the piece, and its sparing use allows the grain to remain the focal point. The fluting channels and ridgelines around the bowl provide some subtle textural diversity, while the tobacco chamber is generously deep.
