Erik Nording's Cut line is one of the Danish carver's higher-grade series, with generally more refined shaping. This bent Pot is a handsome example, with the thick-walled, muscular bowl paired to a gracefully arcing, gestural shank-and-stem arrangement. Displaying a sweeping form, it's dressed in one of Nording's vibrant honey-hued stains, which does well to accentuate the briar's gorgeous grain. Stunning licks of fiery flame grain engulf the bowl on all flanks, with birdseye dotting the rim and underside, a testament to the carver's skill in shaping the briar to best show off its grain.
