For his 2009 Hunting Pipe design, Erik Nording chose the Hare as the inspiration for his annual series: The animal embodied in a paneled bent Brandy seen rendered here in a smooth, handsome ruby stain and topped by a jet-black, downturned stem. Angular and sleek, with precise, crisp line work throughout, it's easy to see how the shaping of this piece represents the fast-footed Hare.
