Nørding: Partially Rusticated Devil Anse Churchwarden Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-508-15645

The Devil Anse has become something of a modern classic shape in years past, due to its role as the constant companion of Kevin Costner's portrayal of the eponymous and infamous West Virginian in the History Channel miniseries Hatfields and McCoys. The shape itself is essentially a short Belge with a striking forward cant and plump bowl, and that is something Erik Nording has captured quite well here in a larger size, pairing the bowl to a lengthy Demi-Churchwarden stem. Dressing the supple curves of the profile is a partial rustication, which sees craggy carved texture set against a smooth, ruby stain with contrast offered by the copper and chrome colored spigot mount at the junction.
