Nørding: Cut Smooth Bent Egg (1) Tobacco Pipe

Part of Erik Nording's Cut series, this bent Egg presents with much less bombastic dramatism than Nording's fancy Freehand designs. Instead this pipe focuses much more on the flow of its lines, gently sweeping from stem to heel before swiftly upturning to the rim. There are some elements of structure here, such as the stepped arrangement of the shank end accent and tapered stem, and this serves to offer balance to an otherwise freely flowing briar. The stummel is dressed in a warm auburn stain that emphasizes handsome grain all around, and its colors are handsomely contrasted by the aforementioned accent's cobalt blue hues.
