A strong sitter that exudes practicality above all else, the Compass series from Erik Nording comprises a single shape: a Poker reminiscent of Dunhill's "44" Duke. This style pairs a cylindrical bowl to a stretch of aluminum stem with a trim mouthpiece, attached via a push mount to allow it to be removed even when hot. This pipe is also part of the Metal series, wrapping the briar bowls with aluminum to provide protection from the heat. This matte chrome example is smartly dressed and quite modernistic, giving it a distinct aesthetic sure to impress.
