Rattray's "39" is a stout, muscular shape that's been imbued with a good deal of substance, though still maintains a rather compact demeanor, especially when paired to a shorter stem. The shank is an even length of round briar that reaches out of a wide transition in pleasing proportion to the bowl, with the transition itself offering plenty of room to drape a digit.
