One of Rattray's most svelte profiles, the "165" is a classically-oriented straight Apple with an appreciable length that balances the visual weight of its bowl well. While not an overly long pipe, the extra reach offered by the shank and stem create a continuous taper out of the transition that enhances the design's streamlined appeal. Said transition leaves plenty of room to drape a thumb and leads the eye to the bowl, sitting atop a rounded heel and canting forward gently to continue the shank and stem's dynamic momentum.

The Fair Maid series from Rattray's poses a sleek and streamlined aesthetic, befitting its name. Composed of svelte renditions of shape-chart standards, the line unifies pipes with slender proportions and gentle lines to offer a selection of lightweight pipes of fair, elegant design.
