Rattray's: The Castle Sandblasted Black (181) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-599-5831
Scottish marque Rattray's was established in 1903 by Charles Rattray, quickly becoming one of the largest tobacco companies in the British Isles, going on to make their own blends and sell a line of personalized pipes. This legacy continues today under the supervision of Kolhase and Kopp, producing pipes that have become known for their muscular builds and striking designs, such as those of The Castle series. The inspiration for this line is readily apparent, not only through the thick build of the shapes which comprise it, but the unique style of rim that defines the line. This rim has been carved with square outcroppings that are immediately reminiscent of the battlements present on old European castles, not only making for a look that draws the eye forward immediately, but further enhances the firm muscularity and paneled aesthetic of the series. Additionally, a band of chic metal accents the junction, etched in a handsome knot-work pattern which adds visual intrigue and a wealth of contrast to the black sandblast of this "181" Billiard.
