Rattray's: Sanctuary Olivewood Brushed (149) (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-599-6594

Offered here is Rattray's "149" bent Dublin shape. It's a bold, deep-chambered pipe, on par with Group 5 or 6 size, and the bowl flares upward into a chamfered rim for easy chamber-loading and an accenting sense of crisp angularity. The shank continues the bowl's muscularity, stepping down slightly to the tapered stem, which is drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter.

For many, pipe smoking is a refuge of sorts, a retreat away from life's busyness and a safe haven that encourages peacefulness, contemplation, and relaxation. Rattray's Sanctuary series honors this aspect with a line of pipes accented by metal fitments along the shank end and stem base — the former etched with Rattray's ancient triskelion logo. While such accoutrements mirror the aesthetic of a spigot mount, this Sanctuary pipe still maintains a standard mortise and tenon arrangement, drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter. Moreover, the line offers pieces fashioned from briar or from olivewood, with the latter offered here: It displays the material's unique and alluring grain patterns in a rugged sandblast.
