Scott Thile: Smooth Cherrywood (FH) (307)

Product Number: 002-615-0021

From the venerable American carver Scott Thile comes this rather organic number. It's firm stance is wonderfully contrasted by slightly playful, upward sweeping lines, especially around the rather trim transition and flared shank end and stem base. The bowl itself is strongly tapered along the fore, with a slight inward bevel right before it reaches the flattened, paneled base.

Unsurprisingly it sits with aplomb, yet still remains dynamic as can be aesthetically, as its crisp lines sweep upward along the gentle lift of the shank. It's finished in a warm contrast, completely enveloped in long, fine strands of flame, and the rim is crowned with extra-craggy plateau.
