Scott Thile: Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin (FH) (416)

Product Number: 002-615-0054

Visual attention is focused on the rim of this bent Dublin from Scott Thile, thanks to a subdued color palette of dusky reds and browns contrasted by the light stain of the rim. Sinuous and lithely bent, with a transition that seems part of the bowl, and rendering an impression of a single element rather than separate, the shank curves upward to the stem base, which provides an expansion echoing that of the bowl, followed by a half-saddle mouthpiece configuration to maintain the lower arc running from far rim to lip button. Cohesive in design and irresistible in hand, it's a beautifully balanced piece with very good grain and loads of conservative appeal.
