Scott Thile: Sandblasted Cherrywood (FH) (570) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-615-0116

An adroit woodworker long before he ever considered pipe making, Scott Thile has been a mainstay in the pipe community for decades. Alongside his own line of handmade artisan pipes, Thile is also responsible for the establishment and maintenance of Pipedia, the world's most comprehensive online resource of pipe brands and makers. With tutelage and inspiration from the likes of Todd Johnson, Bruce Weaver, Jeff Gracik, Adam Davidson, and Brad Pohlmann, Thile has been fashioning handcrafted pipes since the early 2000s, and his design sense offers fresh interpretations of classic designs, with his Bulldog and Billiard variants especially lauded and collected worldwide.

A signature within Thile's portfolio, this Cherrywood rendition possesses a rugged and organic aesthetic, as if taken directly from nature. A sinuous shank and stem curl into a stout Dublin bowl that pitches forward atop a flattened heel for sturdy sitting. Left to plateau, the rim features craggy texture and rustic charm to match the stummel's textured sandblast, while the half saddle stem continues the curving line from the transition and shank top. Reserved in its color palette, this pieces wears a chocolate stain for traditional appeal, and it's handsomely accented by the cumberland stem's variegated tones.
