Steve Liskey: Smooth Bent Apple with Boxwood

Product Number: 002-713-0008

Steve Liskey has stated his love for the Apple shape, and in particular for said shape when combined with bamboo. Well, for this one he skipped the bamboo, and I think it's easy to guess why: the briar maintained a fine flame and birdseye pattern well past the bowl. Seeing as there was no reason to waste that, Steve didn't, keeping the briar going beyond the transition through a smooth curve and subtle flare, rounded off with a slim, pale boxwood accent. As for the bowl itself, Steve is clearly taking some cues from the Danish greats, with soft lines combined with a fair bit of cheekiness, stout walls, a lifting heel, and a very gently rounded rim.
