Trey Rice: Sandblasted Bent Bulldog with Ivorite Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-921-0015

An architect by trade and an accomplished pipe artisan and woodworker, Trey Rice fashions pipes from his home just outside of Forth Worth, Texas. His design outlook most often centers around English and Danish classics, and his architectural eye results in pipes that are aesthetically clean and remarkably precise. Rice's portfolio most often focuses on shape-chart classics and artisan staples, supported by his tasteful accent work and refined shaping.

A decidedly Danish interpretation of the bent Bulldog, this piece from Rice trades the design's often harsh and rigid structure for a more dynamic, smooth-flowing profile. The shank remains diamond paneled, but the transition and fluid gesture of the shape contrast with supple softness and grace. Dressed in a rich, crimson contrast stain, the sandblasted stummel reveals subtle growth rings, and the hand-cut stem is tastefully accented by a bright section of Ivorite.
