Yeti: Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin (579) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-660-0120
Drawing inspiration from a previous piece we received, Micah "Yeti" Cryder presents this slightly bent Dublin marked by a striking dual finish. Like the earlier example, this piece wears a dark-stained sandblast and dark-stained crown of plateau along the rim. Between these two elements, however, and demarcated from the rest of the stummel by a ridgeline is a smooth-polished section of lightly stained briar, as if the upper bowl were wrapped by a trim band of gold. To balance the aesthetic, Cryder also stained the shank face to match the bowl's smooth section. Shape-wise, this Dublin rendition is more compact than the other, offering the compact proportions that so often define Yeti pipes, and maintaining a handsome balance between the bowl and shank. This is an excellent example of the American carver's design style, and a testament to the eye-catching effects that can be achieved just through briar, without the need for alternative accenting materials.
