Yeti: Sandblasted Acorn with Bakelite (713) Tobacco Pipe

Yeti Pipes' Micah Cryder often crafts pieces informed by the muscular, compact shaping associated with American artisan pipe making, with this organic Acorn being a fine example. The curvaceous bowl's high-waisted rim is crowned in craggy plateau with a quick taper presented toward its lifting heel, aligning with Danish design cues — as is also often the case throughout American pipe making. The rather voluptuous bowl is poised at the end of an equally robust and gradually rising shank that's then topped by one of the Montana artisan's hand-cut Bakelite stems, the creamy hues offering some transparency near the bit. The stummel is wearing an extra dark sandblast that defines the briar's natural grain orientation and boasts a grey-hued accent ring of Bakelite at the shank end for further panache, all the colors in the palette showing lively contrast.
