Yeti: Sandblasted Chubby Pot with Boxwood and Bakelite (811) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-660-0184
Micah Cryder is the artisan behind Yeti pipes, his passion for the art of the craft imbued into him since his childhood, making him a fourth-generation pipe smoker. An autodidact for much of his career, he turned to pipe makers forums for information about carving before he found Premal Chheda, who furthered his knowledge of the craft considerably, especially with regard to the technical elements. Over the years, his abilities have become even more refined, each pipe made contributing to his skills and solidifying his unique shaping style and conventional use of Bakelite stems, as seen in this Pot.
A more classically inclined piece for Cryder, this straight Pot features an abbreviated Nosewarmer length that emphasizes the brawny bowl. Said bowl rests upright on a broad heel that subtly tapers upward to a softly inflated rim. The shank is quite muscular, accented with a band of boxwood. The stem provides a handsome dose of contrast, rendered from yellow Bakelite in a saddle construction for easy clenching. Dressed in a crimson sandblast, the stummel boasts excellent birdseye and vertically oriented growth rings across the bowl.
