Yeti: Sandblasted Saxophone with Brass (985) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-660-0232

Micah "Yeti" Cryder is a Montana-based carver, whose portfolio frequently showcases organic shaping that evokes a sense of fluid motion, drawing inspiration from traditional Danish pipe craftsmanship. The Saxophone, a Freehand design shaped by artisans from Italy, Denmark, and the United States, can vary widely in form. However, it is most often defined by its deeply curved, swirling silhouette and a flared Dublin-style bowl. The tall bowl features an inflated rim that flares from the soft, angled heel. While the rim extends forward, the heel leans more toward the aft, pushing the bowl's profile forward and accentuating the overall form's gestural silhouette. A tight transition grants this piece an active posture and poises it for a comfortable smoking position, giving way to a high-kicked shank that meets a softly curved, vulcanite mouthpiece. A dark sandblast dresses the stummel and highlights handsome growth rings across the briar's surface, while a brass band accents the junction and ties the entire shape together with a dose of flash.
