Adam Davidson: Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-437-0075
One of three demonstration pipes that Adam brought back from the Pipe Making Seminar by the Sea and finished at his workshop here in South Carolina, this Dublin was used to demonstrate Adam's approach to crafting stems and tenons, specifically his practice of drilling them out first and then shaping them in one piece, without the use of delrin. As it turned out though, this specific block had killer grain, so Adam took full advantage and shaped this fairly sizable Dubln with a sloped rim, Danish sensibility to the flow of the heel and transition, and an asymmetrical shank that tapers outwards in a robust curvature that counters the slender saddle stem.
