Adam Davidson: Partially Sandblasted Blowfish Tobacco Pipe

The Blowfish is a fairly classic shape with roots in the Danish school, and it's also one modern artisans have been experimenting with for quite some time now. Many choose to elongate the shank, accentuating the profile by extending that signature teardrop line well past its traditional length. Adam, however, has chosen to come at it from a different angle — namely that of a stout, chubby form. The brevity of the thick shank and transition serve to emphasize the visual weight of the bowl, further highlighted here by rendering the flanks in a tight, sandblasted finish. The result is a charming, stubby jaw-hanger and one unique interpretation of the classic shape.
