Adam Davidson: Sandblasted Disk Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-437-0094
This is a shape that Adam himself has expressed a fondness for making; if he had not personally told me this, it would be readily evident to anyone familiar with his output in the last year or so. We've seen quite a few of these from Adam in that time, and each one has consistently been tweaked and experimented upon: lent a bit of crisp linework here, shifting a bit of geometry there, rendering examples with emphases on length, then on compactness. This fellow sees the implementation of neatly-pinched ridge which serves to define the form of the Disk itself, while also lending it the look of a rather tall-bowled Acorn in profile. It also seems to have a little in common with Adam's own Duck Egg, though lent a bit of alertness in its posture, despite being less poised of bowl. The grain pattern is outstanding, consisting of undulating rings cascading down the fore and whorls of blasted birdseye filling the aft.
