Adam Davidson: Sandblasted Pot with Silver Tobacco Pipe

Measuring just over 4.5 inches in length, this is a short little number from Adam Davidson, but "petite" it is anything but. Its stout, upright bowl, sturdy heel, and thick chamber walls give it a substantial feel in the palm, while the handcarved vulcanite saddle stem enables comfortable clenching when smoking this workhorse of a pipe hands-free. Adam elected to dress this piece in one of his expertly executed sandblasts that suits the all black stain and shows off crisp, vertical striations of flame grain. To top it all off, Davidson adorned the end of the shank with an ultra-thin ring of silver (metallurgy just also happens to be in his vast repertoire), giving an elegant, almost diminutive, flair to an otherwise robust and masculine piece.
