Adam Davidson: Sandblasted Tomato
Product Number: 002-437-0115
Adam Davidson has a keen eye for character-steeped shaping across such a broad variety of forms that it's difficult to lock down what exactly the carver's "bread-and-butter" is. The sort of plump, rounded shaping found on this Tomato is well-represented amongst his body of work, though it's more recently found in the form of muscular numbers, like his gestural Disk and bent Egg shapes. Here, Adam's paired the almost bulbous, forward-inclined bowl to a proportionally slender shank and saddle stem, and finished the whole of it in a warm sandblasted texture. The smokey garnet finish at play is not one we see very often from Adam either, so if you've been on the hunt for a more understated piece in a more rarely-seen treatment, this number is definitely for you.- Daniel Bumgardner
