Adam Davidson: Partially Sandblasted Volcano Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-437-0177

While Adam Davidson draws inspiration from both Danish and Japanese artisans, his keen eye for supple curves and precise dimensions make his work distinctly his own. He crafts pipes with an emphasis placed on functionality and engineering, but one would be hard-pressed to find a Davidson piece that doesn't also look exceptional, as evidenced by this Volcano. Marked by a broad, ridgeline-wrapped heel and a steady upward taper, the bowl here boasts a subtle forward cant that gives the entire form a dynamic look in profile. Said bowl is paired to an upturned shank that flares outward to a demurely curved saddle stem, said stem promoting a comfortable smoking posture. Though rather muscular, this piece conforms naturally to the hand, the bowl's contoured frame offering ample space for the fingers to grasp. Dressing this piece is a dark, grain-defining sandblast, nicely contrasted by smoothly polished briar along the rim, heel, and shank face.
