AKB Meerschaum: Lattice Pickaxe (Tekin) (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

The Pickaxe isn't necessarily a rare shape from AKB, though it is by no means common, and lattice renditions such as this one from Tekin are few and far between, with this example showcasing a striking angularity. This comes primarily from the sharply pointed heel spur atop which the flaring bowl sits, its walls terminating in an asymmetrical rim that has been stylized to emulate briar plateau. The shank end is carved in the same way, unifying the look of the fore and aft ends, and has been paired to a trim saddle stem of dark amber hues, contrasting the paleness of the stummel quite well. Said stummel's lattice carving presents with sculpted recesses framed by lines, these surrounded by dotted divots which each have their own outlines, providing ample opportunity for handsome patination.
