Jeff Gracik is simply an expert in imbuing even his most muscular designs with a strong sense of movement and gesture. Yet more often than not, that illusion of speed or power isn't realized in ways you might expect. He doesn't rely on direct, overtly forward motion in other words, but instead emphasizes the driving force behind the design through dynamic, strongly sweeping lines and curves. The "Speedster" is perhaps the best example of this novel use of curve, featuring an underlying muscular, rounded form that's been seemingly pushed forward at great speed — creating a comet-like trail of sorts in its wake. This is a beautiful example of that signature shape, finished here in a striking dual sandblasted and smooth-polished finish — each treatment separated by the rapidly sweeping ridges flowing down either flank. Best to act quickly on this one, it's sure to go fast.
