J. Alan: Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Boxwood (1119)
Product Number: 002-376-0191
Though not labeled as such, this is essentially a softer interpretation of Jeff's signature Nautical bent Dublin shape. It's a design inspired by his home of San Diego, with its sweeping profile evoking "the silhouette of a fine sailing vessel, or the bow of a schooner, as it cuts through waves and swells." So how does this rendition differ from those we've seen previously? Well, for starters, the fore of the bowl is much softer of heel, omitting the hard ridge that usually is present — emphasizing the overall gentler silhouette. The shank also features a more pronounced sense of flare, and a bit of extra length as well. The domed rim, subtle lip at the aft, and implied dynamism are all very much intact, however — only now in a much softer, more muscular form.
