J. Alan: Sandblasted Bent Apple with Horn (1406)
Product Number: 002-376-0247
With concentric growth rings stacked on the bowl and vertical grain all around, this bent Apple from Jeff Gracik reflects substantial Danish influence, with its rounded, smooth rim and graceful curves, as well as a North American aesthetic in its proportions. The horn ferrule is an elegant separation for the stem and stummel, adding creamy and brown colors to the palette. With a meaty shank and wide bowl, it fits neatly in the hand with sure balance and tactile interest, with the visual weight thrown forward to the bowl by virtue of an understated saddle stem. Jeff is among the top carvers in the world, and it's pretty easy to see why.- Chuck Stanion
