J. Alan: Sandblasted Brandy with Bamboo (1520)

Product Number: 002-376-0253

A cross-grain, low-profile sandblast textures the bowl of this Brandy from Jeff Gracik. With its wide base, it sits upright for convenience, and with its pleasing lines and natural palette, it sits well in the visual category too. The low-profile blast is a tactile pleasure, and in conjunction of the easy-to-hold Brandy shape, it stays in the hand nicely. With the light weight of the bamboo, and the relatively narrow bowl, it will also rest easily in the jaw. Two knuckles of pale bamboo grace the shank, which separates shank and stem in perhaps the most natural way possible. The level of artistry is evident on close examination, from the finishing of the hand cut stem to the rounding of the sandblasted rim, the the juncture of shank and bamboo, all are performed at superior levels of craftsmanship.
