J. Alan: Sandblasted Brandy with Horn (1488)

Product Number: 002-376-0274

While Jeff Gracik's bent Brandies feel a bit more Danish in their execution, this straight Brandy feels quite American all around. It comes from its particularly sturdy profile — a combination of the plump base, mild taper, and thick shank, all of which has roots in the firm aesthetic of the American Industrial movement. It's been dressed in one of Jeff's sandblasts, which are always impressive for the grain that they bring out — in this case, neatly-stacked growth rings, craggy in their execution — while being highlighted by a pale and well-detailed horn mount at the rear. In the end, it's a piece that's comfortable in hand, while still maintaining a fairly compact overall size.
