Alexander Hasty: Sandblasted Bent Egg with Ivorite Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-876-0010
Alexander Hasty is an American artisan who incorporates design cues from both American greats and Danish masters in his creations, often displaying a penchant for muscular renditions. This bent Egg features a softly rounded, forward-surging bowl paired to a quickly flaring, abbreviated teardrop shank. Edging into Nosewarmer territory, it offers a stimulating yet light feel in hand and a comfortable S-curve to the shank and stem promoting a comfortable smoking posture.
As Hasty's entry into our 7th annual American Pipe Making Exposition, it boasts an amplification of the chosen theme: accent stems. Alexander has chosen a blood red vulcanite rod and paired it to a split-stem base of a pale Ivorite expansion ring. It's a handsome combo, and goes exceptionally well with the ink-black sandblast of the stummel, for a pipe that is serious in appearance but clearly knows how to have fun. The fit and finish are excellent, with details like a hand funneled lip button and a discrete brass ring encircling the mortise adding durability and further elevating the already striking design.
