Alexander Hasty: Sandblasted Bent Brandy with Ox Horn Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-876-0022

A gestural bent Brandy from Alexander Hasty, this pipe strays into Nosewarmer length, presenting the American artisan's penchant for Danish shaping cues, this time in diminutive proportions. The bowl cants forward, the shape's defining taper from rounded heel to rim showing a bit of a swell, more so on the aft aspect, with a lifted heel and gentle transition further contributing to an organic aesthetic.

A medium-depth tanblast dresses the grain beautifully, accentuating tight stacks of growth rings climbing the bowl. The easy transition provides the perfect place to drape a digit, while the overall short length and trim weight work in concert with a sleek, slightly downturned vulcanite saddle stem to offer excellent service as a clencher. The light hue of the stummel is contrasted by an ox horn accent at the shank end, providing just the right amount of visual and textural contrast.
