Inspired by the Danish school of pipe design, this Billiard from Alexander Hasty reflects the American artisan's stylistic range. The softly rounded bowl displays a gradual taper toward the smooth, chamfered rim from a plump, yet firm heel that allows it to sit upright. Both Danish and American design cues are present, the overall shaping compact and muscular, with easy lines and supple curves. The rather tall bowl is poised pertly at the end of an equally stocky, round shank, while a more diminutive vulcanite saddle stem lends further style with an expansion ring at its base. The stummel wears a rich, mahogany-hued contrast stain and low-profile sandblast, again evoking a Danish interpretation, with a creamy ferrule of Ivorite both lightening the composition and lending contrast to the rugged color palette.
