Ardor: Marte Fantasy Freehand
Product Number: 002-004-2648
Almost like a bent Dublin in its execution, this Ardor Freehand initially appears to be traditionally inclined but its line work reveals something more intricate. The triangular shank features a set of firm ridgelines that emanate from the underside of the shank face and take a sharp turn, climbing the bowl before ending along the aft of the rim. The lines add some textural diversity to an otherwise smooth shape. Such shaping has also maximized the wonderful grain patterns on display as a sea of birdseye dominates the rim while streaks of flame grain dance around the flanks and the fore. It's all expertly highlighted by the dark, smoky Marte stain which pairs exceptionally well, with the acrylic stem's mix of brown and red tones that complement the stummel's finish.- Jeffery Sitts
