Ardor: Marte Bent Egg with Bamboo
Product Number: 002-004-2691
We've become so accustomed to the densely knuckled bamboo gravitated to by many artisan carvers that this Marte bent Egg from Ardor seems a happy change, and it's certainly an alternative that many appreciate. The bamboo shank extension is long, with the knuckles widely separated for a smooth and pale stretch dividing the translucent saddle stem from the soft curvature of the gently rising Egg bowl. That bowl reflects all the careful shaping we expect from Ardor, with a forward inclination that imbues the piece with an impression of momentum. A classic stain of reddish hues offers well-defined contrast for the grain, which rises in angular regularity to the flat, textured rim.- Chuck Stanion
