In terms of proportions, this Ardor Poker is among the most reserved and balanced pieces I've encountered from the Roveras. However, the finish and color palette are quite remarkable, making this a distinctive interpretation of the classic shape. The bowl is stout and near-cylindrical in its shaping, its angled, flattened heel allowing it to sit stably and lends the bowl a hint of forward cant in profile. Smooth briar along the rim and base bookends the sandblasted finish that covers the rest of the stummel, showcasing a consistent array of undulating ring grain creeping up the bowl's flanks. A forest green acrylic accent adorns the shank-end, slightly bulging outward to meet the creamy, mocha-hued stem.
