Ardor: Urano Fantasy Acorn (Christmas 2022) (5) Tobacco Pipe

Ardor's Christmas pipe for 2022 is this strikingly bent Acorn, one which boasts some impressive proportions and an appreciable weight, making for an in-hand feel that's hearty but comfortable. The deep bend of the shank and stem also lend it an extremely good posture for jaw-hanging despite its weight, and the shank itself showcases a flare to the end marked by a swirling, amber-hued acrylic accent. This accent matches the color of the stem, while a silver band around the lower part of the stem's base tapers and nestles into the shank, introducing some handsome contrast at the junction. Underneath, the shank has been finished smooth, with this smooth portion constrained to a pair of ridges that frame the flanks, outlining a vast section that circles the heel and enhances the lovely curvature of this pipe. A tall bowl is supported by this heel, rising with a measured flare to a high-set waist before taking on a domed taper to the chamfered rim. Aside from the smooth underside and the rim, the rest of the stummel has been dressed in the craggy Urano rustication and stained a deep auburn, with plenty of contrast offered by the bright metal accent band and colorful acrylic.
