Ardor: Urano Fantasy Paneled Cherrywood Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-004-3522
The Ardor workshop was established in 1974, its name being a portmanteau of its founders, Angelo Rovera and his son Dorelio Rovera. The family's tradition of pipe-making extends further, to 1911, when Angelo's father Francesco founded the Sociedade Rovera pipe company alongside his brothers. Even today, Ardor is carried on by Dorelio's sons Dimitri and Damiano. This Cherrywood from Ardor is a bold, expressive take on the classic shape. Framed by eight crisp facets, the bowl stands at a subtle forward cant, with thick, insulating walls flaring high from the flat, sure-sitting heel toward the broad rim. A muscular, Foursquare-style shank curls upward from the transition toward one of Ardor's Fantasy mounts: an accent of white, striated acrylic at the shank end that meets a brindled, coffee-hued saddle stem with a metal band at the junction. Ardor's Urano rustication dresses the stummel in a dark, craggy complexion with warm undertones, the rim left smooth for contrast.
