Ardor: Mercurio Fantasy Paneled Bent Dublin Sitter with Silver Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-004-3533

The Ardor marque was established in 1974, its name being a portmanteau of its founders, Angelo Rovera and his son Dorelio Rovera. The family's tradition of pipe making extends further, to 1911, when Angelo's father Francesco founded the Sociedade Rovera pipe company alongside his brothers. Even today, Ardor is carried on by Dorelio's sons Dimitri and Damiano. This paneled bent Dublin from Ardor employs a practical, Cherrywood-esque form factor in tandem with bold, expressive shaping for a design that's both fashionable and functional. The bowl stands tall with a forward cant upon a flat heel, from which thick, insulating walls reach high as they flare toward the plateau-capped rim, its figure framed by eight crisp facets for a sturdy, architectural character. In contrast, the Foursquare shank out back shows more winding, free-flowing line work as it curls upward from the transition. As part of Ardor's Fantasy series, the shank end is accented with rich, chocolate-hued acrylic, where it meets a matching saddle stem with a gentle downturn, with a silver band adorning the junction for a touch of flash. Courtesy of Ardor's Mercurio finish, the stummel wears a warm, honey-blonde stain that highlights sweeping vertical grain across both flanks, in addition to underlying growth rings wrapping around the bowl.
