Ardor: Urano Bent Egg Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-004-3550
The Ardor marque was established in 1974, its name being a portmanteau of its founders, Angelo Rovera and his son Dorelio Rovera. The family's tradition of pipe making extends further, to 1911, when Angelo's father Francesco founded the Sociedade Rovera pipe company alongside his brothers. Even today, Ardor is carried on by Dorelio's sons Dimitri and Damiano. Featuring an oval-esque figure, this bent Egg from Ardor is slimmed down just a touch, making for a piece that's both robust while remaining relatively compact. A tall ball stands at the fore, its walls reaching high as they curve from the rounded heel and taper toward the rim, housing a deep chamber within. From a broad transition, a sturdy shank turns sharply upward, topped with an arcing saddle stem of shimmering violet acrylic, the arrangement creating a comfortable jaw-hanging posture. Contrasting the stem's cooler palette is Ardor's Urano finish, which dresses the stummel here in a warm, earthy rustication that offers a wealth of stimulating texture.
